THE Health Ministry reported 2,690 fresh Covid-19 cases as of noon today, the lowest figure in a fortnight.
The last time Malaysia logged fewer infections than today was on December 20 when 2,589 cases were recorded.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hishsam Abdullah said 2.78 million people have been infected since the onset of the pandemic.
The breakdown of cases according to states will be uploaded on the CovidNow website after midnight.
Noor Hisham said the infection rate nationwide was 0.99 as of yesterday, where a value of more than 1.0 means the infection is spreading.
According to the CovidNow site, this is only the case in Johor (R1.01) and Kelantan (R1.0). β January 3, 2022.
