INDIA registered 9,195 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the case tally to 34.8 million, said the Health Ministry.

It registered 302 fresh coronavirus fatalities in the same period, according to Xinhua. The death toll now stands at 480,592.

The country has 77,002 active cases, including an additional 1,546 active cases in the past 24 hours.

A total of 7,347 recoveries were recorded yesterday, bringing the total number of discharged patients to 34.2 million.

India has, so far, registered 781 Omicron cases, of which 238 and 167 are in Delhi and Maharashtra, respectively. Of the 781 patients, 241 have been discharged. – Bernama, December 29, 2021.
