THE Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of continuous rain for Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor and Sabah, following the monsoon surge, which is expected to continue until January 3.
The department in a statement today said continuous rain is expected in Kudat, Tawau and Sandakan, Sabah, from today until January 2.
The same is expected in Bachok, Jeli, Kota Baru, Kuala Krai, Machang, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Tanah Merah and Tumpat, Kelantan, and all over Terengganu from December 30 until January 1.
Continuous rain will occur in Jerantut, Kuantan, Maran, Pekan and Rompin, Pahang, and Mersing, Johor.
The monsoon surge is expected to bring continuous rain and strong winds that can cause floods in low-lying areas. – Bernama, December 28, 2021.
