2,897 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA continued to report daily Covid-19 cases below 3,000 for the third straight day with 2,897 new infections detected today.  

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new infections took the cumulative total to 2,746,833.  

The case breakdowns according to states will be uploaded on to the CovidNow website at midnight. 

Noor Hisham said the infectivity rate (Rt) nationwide stood at 0.93. 

Malaysia has reported fewer than 2,000 Covid-19 hospitalisations for 17 days since December 10, with 1,057 patients still in hospital today. – December 28, 2021.
