New Covid deaths dip to 19, all backlogs

MALAYSIA yesterday posted 19 coronavirus deaths, the lowest in six days, the Health Ministry said.

The GitHub raw data repository showed all deaths, including three who were dead on arrival (DOA), were backlog cases. 

The Covid-19 toll in the country stood at 31,334, of which 6,328 were DOA. 

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Terengganu reported the highest number of virus deaths at five.

Other states reporting new deaths were Perak (4), Penang (3), Johor (2), Kedah, Negri Sembilan, Sabah, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur (1 each). 

Of the three DOA cases, two were in Penang and one in Sarawak. 

The local Covid-19 fatality rate stood at 0.8% while the national average for deaths by infection was 11 per million people. –  December 27, 2021.
