S. Korean president pardons ex-head of state Park Geun-hye


Former president Park Geun-hye will be released from a hospital in Seoul, South Korea, on December 31, where she has been admitted due to chronic shoulder and waist pain. – AFP pic, December 24, 2021.

SOUTH Korean President Moon Jae-in has pardoned former president Park Geun-hye, who has been imprisoned over corruption charges for 57 months, said the Justice Ministry today, as reported by Xinhua.

Park is among 3,094 inmates on the current president’s special amnesty list for the New Year.
