THE 7th Battalion of the General Operations Force (GOF) seized 180,000 sticks of white cigarettes worth RM135,000 in a rubber smallholding near Bukit Kwong in Pasir Mas at 3am today.

Acting on a tip, a GOF team found 18 cartons of cigarettes hidden under canvas sheets, GOF7 Commanding Officer Supt Azhari Nusi said.

There was no one around in the area and the contraband was taken to the Lubok Setol police station, to be handed over to the Customs Department, he said.

Separately, he said a GOF Strike Force team also seized vape products worth RM253,000 in Rantau Panjang at 8pm yesterday.

He said the team had spotted several men loading boxes into a boat in Jalan Tepi Sungai, who, upon seeing the approaching team, fled the scene. – Bernama, December 19, 2021.
