AN INFANT has been accidentally given a Covid-19 vaccine instead of a flu shot in South Korea, said local authorities today, as reported by Yonhap.

A paediatrician in Seongnam, south of Seoul, had mistakenly given the 7-month-old an adult dose of the Moderna vaccine meant for the baby’s mother on September 29, according to the municipal government.

The infant was treated at a nearby hospital for five days, but showed no special signs of side effects, said the authorities.

The parents have filed a suit against the paediatrician, seeking compensation for the wrong injection. – Bernama, December 18, 2021.
