Malaysia posts 48 Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 48 Covid-19 deaths as of midnight, 12 of which were classified as dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.

This brings the death toll from the coronavirus to 30,956.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases only just confirmed by health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

According to the ministry’s Github raw data repository, Penang logged the most deaths at eight.

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Kelantan (6), Sabah (6), Terengganu (6), Selangor (5), Perak (4), Johor (3), Negri Sembilan (3), Kedah (2), Kuala Lumpur (2), Pahang (1), Sarawak (1) and Labuan (1).

No new deaths was reported in Putrajaya, Perlis, and Malacca.

The Covid-19 fatality rate stands at 0.8%. – December 15, 2021.
