A TOTAL of 922 people were admitted to hospital with Covid-19 yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
The last time the country reported under 1,000 admissions was on November 29, when 925 were logged.
Hospital bed utilisation nationwide was at 66.8%, of which 34.4% were filled by Covid-19 patients.
The hospital admission rate indicates the severity of the virus. Hospital utilisation includes bed usage as well as the number of patients in intensive care and on ventilators.
The Klang Valley logged the highest daily admissions at 276; Selangor accounted for 239, Kuala Lumpur 19 and Putrajaya 18.
Other states that reported new admissions are Johor (191), Kedah (30), Kelantan (70), Malacca (21), Negri Sembilan (34), Pahang (26), Perak (52), Perlis (14), Penang (34), Sabah (67), Sarawak (48), Terengganu (59).
Labuan did not report new hospitalisations..
Terengganu reported the highest bed utilisation rate at 86.2%.
Ventilators were 43.4% utilised while ICU occupancy stood at 47.5%.
As of midnight, there were 57,926 active infections in Malaysia. Among these, 408 were in ICU, 206 of them on ventilators.
Meanwhile, 47,751 patients were in home quarantine, 5,263 were admitted to low risk quarantine centres and 4,504 were hospitalised.
As of noon yesterday, 3,504 new infections were reported.
Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 682 cases.
Other states and territories that recorded new cases are Johor (378), Kedah (263), Kelantan (455), Malacca (143), Negri Sembilan (120), Pahang (279), Perak (205), Perlis (24), Penang (276), Sabah (181), Sarawak (47), Terengganu (193), Kuala Lumpur (218), Labuan (8), and Putrajaya (32). – December 13, 2021.
