Malaysia logs 3,490 new Covid-19 cases, lowest in 7 months

Malaysia reports 3,490 fresh coronavirus infections today, the lowest since it reported 3,120 infections on May 4. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, December 12, 2021.

MALAYSIA logged 3,490 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the lowest since May 4, when it logged 3,120 cases.

The fresh infections push the total number of reported cases in the country to 2.69 million.

The case breakdown according to states will be uploaded on the CovidNow website after midnight.

A total of 22.7 million (97.3%) adults are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in the country as of yesterday, while 23.09 million (98.7%) have received at least one vaccine dose.

A total of 2.72 million adolescents aged 12-17 are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in the country as of yesterday, while 2.82 million (89.7%) have received at least one vaccine dose. – December 12, 2021.
