FOUR individuals, who allegedly insulted persons with disabilities (PwD) in two videos that went viral on Wednesday, are expected to give their statements at a police station in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, today.
Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai said police contacted the suspects yesterday.
“They will be at the station to have their statements recorded this afternoon.”
The case has been classified under section 504 of the penal code for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace and section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper use of the network service.
On Thursday, OKU Sentral president Ras Adiba Radzi lodged a police report against the individuals for insulting PwD, although they have publicly apologised.
In the first video, two youth are seen bragging about securing a parking spot meant for PwD by pretending to be one, but publicly apologised to the community after receiving backlash from social media users.
In the other video, two women are seen belittling PwD while using a toilet for the disabled at a petrol station. – Bernama, December 11, 2021.
