44 new Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday recorded 44 Covid-19 deaths as of midnight, 10 of which were classified as dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.

Yesterday’s figure is an increase from the previous day’s when 28 deaths were reported.

This brings the death toll from the coronavirus to 30,831.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases only just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

According to the ministry’s Github raw data repository, Johor logged the most deaths at eight.

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Sabah (6), Terengganu (5), Pahang (4), Penang (4), Selangor (4), Sarawak (3), Kedah (2), Kelantan (2), Negri Sembilan (2), Perak (2), Malacca (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

No new deaths were reported in Putrajaya, Labuan and Perlis.

The Covid-19 fatality rate stands at 0.8.%. – December 11, 2021.
