MALAYSIA yesterday recorded 41 Covid-19 deaths, six of which were classified dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.
Yesterday’s figure was an increase from the previous day, when 28 deaths were reported.
This brought the death toll from the coronavirus to 30,787.
The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases only just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.
According to the CovidNow website, Selangor logged the most deaths at six.
Other states and territories that reported deaths were Perak (5), Sarawak (5), Johor (4), Kelantan (4), Penang (4), Kedah (3), Sabah (3), Terengganu (3), Malacca (1), Pahang (1), Perlis (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).
No new deaths was reported in Putrajaya, Labuan and Negri Sembilan.
Terengganu, Perak, and Negri Sembilan have had the greatest number of fatalities (per million people) in the last two weeks.
The Covid-19 fatality rate stands at 0.8%. – December 10, 2021.
