BERSATU president Muhyiddin Yassin has challenged Prime Minister Najib Razak to invite independent observers to monitor the 14th general election if Najib is so confident it would be a clean affair.

“Najib need not lie to the public that Barisan Nasional will not cheat in GE14. The reality is cheating has and is being done by BN because they are increasingly afraid of losing in the elections,” said Muhyiddin in a statement today.

He said election boundaries have been redrawn in the redelineation exercise to favour BN, with voters in BN strongholds moved to seats BN won win a slim margin and polling districts in marginal seats the opposition won removed to increase the chances of BN winning these marginal seats.

“Pakatan Harapan has reasons to be worried GE14 will be the dirtiest election in Malaysia’s history,” said Muhyiddin.

Najib said on Tuesday there will be no cheating in GE14 due to the Election Commission’s strict protocols.

He said any allegations to the contrary were just attempts by the opposition to cast doubt on the polls results.

Muhyiddin slammed Najib for being in denial BN’s machinery works closely with the Election Commission to produce an electoral map that gives it a clear advantage.

“Anyone who scrutinises the new electoral map will find it was deliberately drawn to favour BN. Isn’t that an obvious form of cheating?” said the former deputy prime minister.

He added PH has found thousands of names in the electoral roll without a complete address.

“This raises suspicions on their identities. Are they genuine, eligible voters or not?” he said,

This is also the first time postal voters have increased due to inclusion of civil servants, he said.

“If the government wants to let them vote without affecting their duties, then it shouldn’t be a problem to declare the voting day as a public holiday,” said Muhyiddin.

On top of that, he said PH had discovered a number of army voters have been moved to army camps that have yet to be built in constituencies BN won by slim margins.

He said PH has reasonable grounds to be concerned BN will abuse the opaque postal voting process to cheat in GE14 to stay in power.

“GE14 is not a fight between PH and BN. It is a fight between the people and BN to stop the rot created by Najib and BN.

“When a large majority rise up to reject BN through the vote, any form of cheating done by Najib and BN will not be able to save them,” said Muhyiddin, urging voters to reject BN’s kleptocrat regime.
