Health Ministry reports 66 new Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday recorded 66 Covid-19 deaths, nine of which were classified dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.

This brought the death toll from the coronavirus to 30,718.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases only just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

According to the ministry’s Github raw data repository, Terengganu logged the most deaths at 12.

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Selangor (11), Kedah (8), Perak (7), Penang (6), Sabah (5), Negeri Sembilan (4), Johor and Kuala Lumpur (3 each), Kelantan, Pahang and Sarawak (2 each), and Malacca (1).

No new deaths were reported in Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya.

The Covid-19 fatality rate stands at 0.8.%. – December 8, 2021.
