MUSANG King orchards are among contributors of water supply disruptions in Bilut, Bentong, said Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

Sungai Bilut’s murkiness is at a high level following heavy downpours, resulting in water treatment plant shutdowns and subsequent water supply disruptions, he added.

“The Bilut assemblyman should know that water does not naturally become murky; there must be a reason. The presence of Musang King orchards, to some extent, have affected the water quality in Bilut,” he told the state assembly today.

Wan Rosdy was replying to a supplementary question from Lee Chin Chen (Bilut-PH), who wanted to know what action is being taken to overcome water disruptions in his area.

The Sungai Bilut water treatment plant will be improved by constructing pre-sedimentation tanks, which are expected to be ready next year, he added. – Bernama, December 7, 2021.
