Malaysia logs 40 new coronavirus deaths

TH Health Ministry yesterday reported 40 Covid-19 deaths, taking the virus toll to 30,614.

All the deaths were backlog cases that had just been confirmed to be due to infection.

The Git.hub raw data repository showed 10 of the cases were dead on arrival.

Johor reported the highest fatalities with eight, followed by Perak with six.

Other states that reported new deaths were Kelantan (2), Pahang (2), Kelantan (1), Penang (1), Sabah (4), Sarawak (3), Kedah (5),  Malacca (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Selangor (4) and  Terengganu (4).

Perlis and the three federal territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya did not report any deaths from the coronavirus. 

The national average for deaths from Covid-19 stood at 15 per population of one million; Perlis marked the highest average at 48 deaths per million people. – December 6, 2021.
