THE estimated operating expenditure nine ministries in Budget 2022 was approved at the committee level during this Dewan Rakyat sitting this week.

It involved the following ministries: energy and natural resources; youth and sports; human resources; entrepreneur development and cooperative; transport; science, technology and innovation; rural development; federal territories as well as environment and water.

The committee-level debate on the Supply Bill 2022 (Budget 2022) is scheduled until December 13. The bill was passed at the policy level on November 18.

Meanwhile, issues on the increase in price of essential items remained in focus this week.

Salahuddin Ayub (Pulai-PH), during the question-and-answer session, raised a motion on the matter, which was later discussed at the special chamber yesterday.

In another development, 25 Covid-19 cases detected through periodic screening in Parliament on Monday are most likely of the Delta variant.
