BERSATU is not plotting a political coup to replace Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob with Muhyiddin Yassin, said the party information chief.

Wan Saiful Wan Jan in a Facebook post today said: “Najib (Razak) said Bersatu is plotting to topple the prime minister. I deny this. This is slander.”

The former prime minister had said Bersatu wants Muhyiddin to return to power.

Wan Saiful took a swipe at the Pekan MP saying that not everyone behaves like the latter and wants to topple others.

“Is it not strange that the slander comes from Najib? These are words from an experienced individual who is responsible for bringing down a prime minister, along with his colleagues. Does he think that everyone behaves like him?”

He was likely referencing the Sheraton Move last year, which saw the ousting of Pakatan Harapan as the ruling coalition.

“The fact is that the increase in prices of goods has become a serious topic of concern and discussion among the people. Instead of pointing fingers at people, Najib should come up with a solution.”

Maybe this is his way of drawing away attention from the decision of his SRC International appeal on December 8, he added.

Yesterday, Najib accused Bersatu of plotting to return Muhyiddin to power, saying that the party is latching on to the increase in the prices of goods to do so. – December 1, 2021.
