1,009 hospitalised with coronavirus

MALAYSIA logged 1,009 Covid-19 hospital admissions yesterday, an increase from 925 the day before, the Health Ministry reported. 

The hospital utilisation rate dipped slightly to 66.3% yesterday from 66.4% the day before. Virus cases accounted for 38.8%.

There were 298 hospitalisations in the Klang Valley with a  hospital utilisation rate stood at 55.9%

Selangor reported 257 admissions, Kuala Lumpur (20) and Putrajaya (21).

Other states that reported new admissions are Johor with 198, Kedah (39), Kelantan (76), Malacca (24), Negri Sembilan and Pahang (29), Perak (50), Perlis (8), Penang (19), Sabah (99), Sarawak (74), Terengganu (65) and Labuan (1). 

Meanwhile, the Klang Valley accounted for 1,173 of yesterday’s 4,087 new infections.

Selangor reported 952 cases, Kuala Lumpur (181), and Putrajaya (40).

Other states that recorded infections are Johor (413), Kedah (333), Kelantan (446), Malacca (175), Negri Sembilan (107), Pahang (255), Perak (205), Perlis (28), Penang (279), Sabah (342), Sarawak (98), Terengganu (214), and Labuan (19). 

The number of active cases stood at 66,497, of which 53,177 were under home quarantine, 6,575 in quarantine centres, and 5,238 hospitalised.

A total of 507 patients are in ICU, 272 of them on ventilators. – November 30, 2021.
