MALAYSIA yesterday recorded 61 Covid-19 deaths, 15 of which were classified dead on arrival, said the Health Ministry.

This brought the death toll to 30,370.

The daily death figure is derived from the number of reported deaths on a given day, including backlog cases only just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to the coronavirus.

According to MOH’s Github raw data depository, Selangor logged the most deaths at 14.

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Terengganu (11), Johor (6), Perak (6), Kelantan (5), Kuala Lumpur (5), Negeri Sembilan (4), Kedah (3), Pahang (3), Sabah (2) and Sarawak (2).

No new deaths were reported in Malacca, Perlis, Penang, Labuan and Putrajaya.

The virus fatality rate stood at 0.8.%.
