MALAYSIA reported 37 Covid-19 related deaths as of midnight, the Health Ministry said.
The ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed that all fatalities were backlog cases, taking the death toll in the country to 30,147.
Of the 37 fatalities, nine were declared dead on arrival (DOA), taking the toll in this category to 6,096.
The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.
Terengganu reported seven deaths, the most by state, territory or region. Over a two-week period, the state has logged 61 deaths, again the highest by any state, territories or region.
Other states reporting new cases include Negri Sembilan and Sabah (5 each), Selangor and Kelantan (4 each), Johor and Perak (3 each), Kedah and Pahang (2 each), and Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur (1 each).
No coronavirus-linked deaths were reported in Malacca, Perlis, Penang, Labuan and Putrajaya.
Meanwhile, the nine DOA cases were reported in Kelantan, Sabah and Selangor (2 each); and Johor, Perak and Terengganu (1 each).
The country’s current fatality rate is at 0.8% as of yesterday, with the national average for coronavirus deaths at 15 per population of 1 million. – November 25, 2021.
