45 new Covid deaths in Malaysia

MALAYSIA logged 45 Covid-19 deaths as of midnight yesterday, the Health Ministry reported.

The GitHub raw data repository showed seven of them were dead on arrival.

This takes the Covid-19 toll in Malaysia to 29,937.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Sabah recorded the highest number of fatalities at 15.

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Selangor (7), Kedah (5), Kelantan (4), Sarawak (4), Penang (3), Negeri Sembilan (2), Pahang (2), Malacca (1), Perlis (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

No new deaths were reported in Perak, Terengganu, Johor, Labuan and Putrajaya. 

There were 68,637 active infections, 54,174 (78.9%) of them in home quarantine; 8,268 (12%) in quarantine centres; and 5,653 (8.2%) hospitalised.

A total of 542 patients are in intensive care, 268 of them on ventilators. – November 20, 2021.
