Health Ministry reports 68 new Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA logged 68 deaths as of midnight, a sharp increase from the day before when 40 deaths were recorded, the Health Ministry reported. 

The GitHub raw data repository showed that of the total, one person died yesterday, with the remainder backlog cases, 12 of which were classified dead on arrival.

This takes the Covid-19 toll in Malaysia to 29,837.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Perak recorded the highest number of new deaths (13), followed by Selangor (10) and Terengganu (9). 

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Sarawak (8); Johor, Kedah and Kuala Lumpur (4); Kelantan, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Pahang and Sabah (3); and Penang (1).

There were no deaths reported in Perlis, Labuan or Putrajaya.

As of yesterday, there were 66,793 active Covid-19 cases, an increase from the previous day when there were 65,316.

Meanwhile, 52,235 patients are in home quarantine, 8,242 in low-risk quarantine centres, and 5,780 in hospital. – November 18, 2021.
