40 new Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA logged 40 new Covid-19 deaths as of midnight, the Health Ministry reported.

The GitHub raw data repository showed all the deaths were backlog cases, seven of which were classified dead on arrival.

This takes the Covid-19 toll in Malaysia to 29,769.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Selangor recorded the highest number of new deaths (7), accounting for 17.5% of the new fatalities. 

Other states and territories that reported deaths were Sarawak (6), Penang (5), Sabah (5), Terengganu (4), Kelantan (3), Negri Sembilan (3), Johor (2), Perak (2), Kedah (1), Malacca (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

There were no deaths reported in Pahang, Perlis, Labuan or Putrajaya.

As of yesterday, there were 65,316 active Covid-19 cases, a drop from the day before when there were 65,956.

Meanwhile, 50,765 patients were in home quarantine, 8,217 in low-risk quarantine centres, and 5,789 were hospitalised. – November 17, 2021.
