MALAYSIA logged 5,413 new Covid-19 infections as of noon today, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

The Health director-general said this was a slight increase from the day before when 5,143 infections were reported.

With the new cases today, the country has recorded a total of 2,556,865 since the epidemic began.

The breakdown according to states will be uploaded onto the CovidNow portal after midnight.

The seven-day R-naught average is currently at 1.05, an increase from the past few weeks when the country recorded below 1.0.

The country’s hospitalisation rate on a seven-day average decreased from 10% yesterday to 9% today with 69% of its hospital beds utilised nationwide.

Meanwhile, a total of 22.3 million individuals or 95.3% of Malaysia’s adult population have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday.

Based on the Health Ministry’s data on the CovidNow portal, 97.7% or 22.88 million of adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, 80.4% or 2.53 million adolescents aged between 12 and 17 have completed their vaccination and 87% or 2.74 million individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine. – November 16, 2021.
