Use RTM to introduce yourself to people, Malacca election candidates told

THE government has provided RTM as a campaigning platform for the Malacca polls and all candidates should seize this opportunity to introduce themselves to the people, said an Umno Supreme Council member.

Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the move is a positive development in the democratic system in the country.

“Thank you, Annuar Musa (communications and multimedia minister), for such a commendable move.

“I encourage all candidates in the state elections to seize this opportunity so they can be better known by the people.”

On Saturday, Annuar said the government will allow RTM to air details and posters of all candidates contesting in the Malacca polls from yesterday.

A total of 112 candidates will contest in the state elections – Barisan Nasional (28), Perikatan Nasional (28), Pakatan Harapan (28), Putra (5), Parti Perikatan India Muslim Nasional (1) and Independents (22).

The Election Commission has set polling day on November 20 and early voting tomorrow, following the Malacca Legislative Assembly dissolution on October 4. – Bernama, November 15, 2021.
