Malaysia reports 45 new coronavirus deaths

MALAYSIA logged 45 new Covid-19 deaths as of midnight yesterday, a drop for the fifth consecutive day despite rising new infections.

The GitHub raw data repository showed all the deaths were backlog cases, 12 of which were classified dead on arrival.

This takes the Covid-19 toll in Malaysia to 29,676.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Most of the fatalities were recorded in Kedah which saw eight deaths, followed by Penang and Selangor (7), Perak and Sarawak (4), Kelantan, Sabah and Terengganu (3, Malacca and Kuala Lumpur (2), Negri Sembilan and Johor (1).

Pahang, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya did not record any deaths.

As of yesterday, there were 65,417 active Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, 51,030 patients are in home quarantine, 8,067 admitted to low-risk quarantine centres and 5,796 hospitalised. – November 15, 2021.
