MALAYSIA logged 1,321 Covid-19 hospital admissions as of midnight with utilisation at 66%, the CovidNow website showed.
The admission figure is a slight increase from the day before when 1,248 admissions were reported.
There was a dip in overall bed utilisation in hospitals – including non-Covid cases – but Covid-19 utilisation decreased from 39.2% to 39% nationwide.
Hospitalisation is an indicator of the severity of the virus. There were 411 admissions in the Klang Valley, the highest by state, territory or region.
Over a seven-day average, the region recorded a 16% increase in hospitalisations with 338 admissions, while utilisation stood at 58%.
Selangor reported 339 admissions, Kuala Lumpur 50 and Putrajaya 22.
Other states reporting new hospital admissions were Johor with 175, Sarawak (164), Sabah (129), Kelantan (92), Negri Sembilan (90), Perak (55), Terengganu (66), Kedah (40), Pahang (29), Malacca (32), Penang (28) and Perlis (9) and Labuan (1).
Meanwhile, the Klang Valley contributed 2,023 infections of the nation’s 5,809 cases yesterday.
Selangor reported 1,601 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (347) and Putrajaya (75).
Other states that reported new infections were Johor (549), Kedah (304), Kelantan (389), Malacca (198), Negri Sembilan (237), Pahang (356), Perak (267), Perlis (26), Penang (305), Sabah (497), Sarawak (399), Terengganu (247) and Labuan (12).
As of yesterday, there were 65,319 active Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, 50,862 patients are in home quarantine, 8,196 admitted to low-risk quarantine centres and 5,734 hospitalised. – November 14, 2021.
