A TOTAL of 1,306 of 6,243 new Covid-19 cases logged yesterday were admitted to hospitals, the Health Ministry said.
According to the ministry’s CovidNow website, the hospital admission utilisation rate is now at 69.1%, with more than half linked to Covid-19 admissions.
Bed utilisation for Covid-19 cases is now at 38.2%.
The graphs for each state on the CovidNow portal showed that nearly all states are showing a downward trend in hospitalisation rate, which is one of the country’s indicators on the severity of Covid-19 infections.
Of the new admissions yesterday, the Klang Valley had the most with 342, the website showed.
The populous region continues to report a decline in its hospital admissions by 7% on a seven-day average, and its current utilisation rate stands at 59%.
Selangor had 269 admissions, Kuala Lumpur (51) and Putrajaya (22).
Other states that reported new hospital admissions were Sarawak with 145, Johor (195), Kelantan (119), Sabah (108), Malacca (70), Terengganu (70), Perak (69), Negri Sembilan (68), Kedah (48), Pahang (42), Penang (19) and Perlis (11).
There were no new Covid-19 admissions recorded in Labuan.
Meanwhile, of the 6,243 Covid-19 cases reported yesterday, the Klang Valley accounted for 1,939 or 31% of the overall cases.
Selangor logged the most number of cases with 1,597 infections, followed by Kelantan (806) and Sabah (573).
Other states reporting new cases were Johor (485), Sarawak (480), Kedah (438), Pahang (367), Kuala Lumpur (323), Penang (318), Terengganu (273), Perak (200), Negri Sembilan (199), Malacca (125), Perlis (33), Putrajaya (19) and Labuan (7).
As of yesterday, there were 62,890 active Covid-19 cases.
Of them, 48,730 patients are in home quarantine, 7,999 admitted to low-risk quarantine centres and 5,617 hospitalised.
There are 544 patients in the intensive care unit, with 280 on ventilator support. – November 11, 2021.
