58 new Covid-19 deaths, all backlog cases

A total of 58 new Covid-19 deaths have been reported as of midnight, says the Health Ministry, all of which are backlog cases. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, November 9, 2021.

THE Health Ministry reported a total of 58 Covid-19 deaths as of midnight, bringing the death toll to 29,349. 

According to its GitHub data repository, all of the fatalities were backlog cases with eight classified as brought in dead. 

Selangor recorded the highest number of deaths at 13, accounting for 22.4% of the fatalities yesterday. 

This was followed by Sarawak with 12, Perak (7), Johor and Kelantan (6 each), Kedah and Terengganu (4 each), Malacca and Kuala Lumpur (2 each), Pahang and Sabah (1 each). 

No deaths were reported in Negri Sembilan, Penang, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya. 

The national average for coronavirus deaths stands at 19 per population of one million with the country’s current fatality rate at 0.9%. – November 9, 2021.
