MALAYSIA logged 4,922 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, a dip from yesterday’s 5,713, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. 

With the new cases, the country’s cumulative number of cases nears 2.5 million.

Malaysia has been reporting fewer than 6,000 for six consecutive days. 

Case breakdown by states will be uploaded onto the CovidNow portal after midnight.

Malaysia also recorded a 0.94 R-naught for the past seven days, and a 6% dip in hospitalisation rate with 66% of beds occupied in the same period.

Meanwhile, the country has vaccinated 22.4 million people, or 95.8%, of the adult population as of yesterday. 

Data on the CovidNow portal showed 22.9 million adults, 97.8%, have received a dose of the vaccine.

A total of 41,391 vaccine shots were dispensed yesterday, including 20,365 booster doses, bringing the total number of jabs administered to nearly 50.5 million. – November 5, 2021.
