SELANGOR continued to log the highest number of daily Covid-19 infections, with 1,344 cases yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
It accounted for the bulk of yesterday’s 1,674 daily cases in the Klang Valley, which comprises Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
Kuala Lumpur reported 275 cases and Putrajaya 55 fresh infections.
Meanwhile, Sabah recorded 655 cases, followed by Kelantan (484), Sarawak (527), Johor (429), Kedah (355), Malacca (250), Negri Sembilan (188), Pahang (310), Perak (210), Perlis (38), Penang (340), Terengganu (234) and Labuan (19).
In total, 5,713 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, which took the total number of infections in Malaysia to 2.49 million.
There were 66,944 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as of last night.
Active cases have plateaued at below 70,000 during the past week, with 555 patients were in intensive care, 280 of them on ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 51,953 patients are in home quarantine, while 8,806 were admitted to low-risk quarantine centres and 5,630 were hospitalised. – November 5, 2021.
