Malaysia logs 64 new virus deaths

MALAYSIA logged 64 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, the Health Ministry reported.

All 64 deaths were backlog cases that occurred before November 3.

The country has now recorded a total of 29,091 deaths since the start of the epidemic.

According to data from the Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository, 16 people were classified dead on arrival.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19 after investigation.

Sarawak logged the highest number of deaths for the fifth consecutive day at 19.

Other states and territories that reported new deaths yesterday were Johor (8), Kelantan (7), Perak and Selangor (6), Pahang (4), Kedah, Sabah, and Terengganu (3), Kuala Lumpur and Penang (2).

No deaths were recorded in Malacca, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya.

The national average for coronavirus deaths stands at 21 per population of one million, with Sarawak topping the chart at 54 deaths per million people. – November 5, 2021.
