SELANGOR continued to log the highest number of daily Covid-19 infections, with 1,167 cases yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
It accounted for the bulk of the 1,385 daily cases yesterday in the Klang Valley, which comprises Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
Putrajaya reported 19 cases and Kuala Lumpur, 199.
Sabah recorded the second most cases with 675, followed by Kelantan (565) and Sarawak (540).
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases yesterday were Johor (441), Kedah (381), Malacca (154), Negri Sembilan (156), Pahang (316), Perak (190), Perlis (27), Penang (246), Terengganu (209) and Labuan (6).
In total, 5,291 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, which took the total number of infections in Malaysia to 2.48 million.
There were 67,160 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as of last night.
Active cases have plateaued at below 70,000 in the past week.
Of the active number, 546 patients were in intensive care, 286 of them on ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 51,856 patients are in home quarantine, while 9,008 were admitted to low-risk quarantine centres and 5,750 were hospitalised. β November 4, 2021.
