KLANG Valley, which comprises Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, accounted for 1,739 of the 5,854 Covid-19 cases yesterday, the Health Ministry reported.
Selangor has the bulk of cases at 1,401, while Kuala Lumpur recorded 309 cases and Putrajaya, 29.
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases yesterday were Johor (435), Kedah (345), Kelantan (450), Malacca (223), Negri Sembilan (213), Pahang (350), Perak (231), Perlis (35), Penang (270), Sabah (650), Sarawak (646), Terengganu (266) and Labuan (1).
Over the past seven days, the country recorded a decline of 13% in hospital admissions. The seven-day average admission was 1,259 with bed utilisation at 64%.
Malaysia currently has 69,153 active Covid-19 cases.
Of these, 570 patients were treated in intensive care units, with 293 of them on respiratory support.
Meanwhile, 53,990 patients were in home quarantine; 9,162 in low-risk quarantine centres and 5,431 hospitalised.
Total recoveries number 2.36 million, 6,715 of which were reported yesterday. β October 31, 2021.
