44 Covid-19 deaths, all backlog cases

MALAYSIA logged 44 Covid-19 fatalities as of midnight, the Health Ministry reported. 

According to its GitHub database, all the deaths were backdated cases and only four deaths were classified as dead on arrival.

With the new fatalities, the country has recorded a total of 28,876 Covid-19 deaths. 

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Coved-19 after investigation.

Yesterday, Sarawak topped the list with 10 deaths, followed by Johor and Sabah (5 each), Kedah and Kelantan (4 each), Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (3 each), Perlis, Malacca and Terengganu (2 each), Penang, Perak, Pahang and Negri Sembilan (1 each). 

No deaths were reported in Labuan and Putrajaya. 

As of midnight yesterday, there were 69,153 active cases, including 570 in the intensive care unit (ICU); 293 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 6,715 recoveries reported. The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,466,663. – October 31, 2021.
