KLANG Valley, which comprises Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, accounted for 1,671 of the 6,060 Covid-19 cases yesterday, the Health Ministry reported.
Selangor has the bulk of cases at 1,328.
Yesterday, Kuala Lumpur recorded 299 cases and Putrajaya, 44.
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases yesterday were Johor (458), Kedah (470), Kelantan (522), Malacca (264), Negri Sembilan (247), Pahang (367), Perak (256), Perlis (40), Penang (348), Sabah (589), Sarawak (566), Terengganu (251) and Labuan (11).
Over the past seven days, the country recorded a decline of 14% in hospital admissions. The seven-day average admission was 1,269 with bed utilisation at 68%.
Malaysia currently has 70,058 active Covid-19 cases.
Of these, 567 patients were treated in intensive care units, with 300 of them on respiratory support.
Meanwhile, 54,090 patients were in home quarantine; 9,453 in low-risk quarantine centres and 5,948 hospitalised.
Total recoveries number 2.35 million, 7,297 of which were reported yesterday. β October 30, 2021.
