MALAYSIA has vaccinated 62% of its adolescent population which comprises those between the ages of 12 and 17, the Ministry of Health said.
The ministry’s CovidNow website showed that 1,951,450 had been fully inoculated, while 82.4% had received their first dose.
The website tracker projects that 80% of those in the age group will be fully vaccinated by November 21.
Yesterday, 147,242 doses of vaccine were administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Of these, 18,493 were first doses, 123,182 second doses and 5,567 booster shots.
More than 49.5 million vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the programme on February 24.
Meanwhile, more than 24 million, or 74%, of the population have been fully vaccinated.
As of yesterday, 94.9% of adults have had two jabs while 97.6% have received one shot.
