A TOTAL of 23,906,468, or 73.2%, of the general population has been fully inoculated against Covid-19, the Health Ministry said.
According to the ministry’s CovidNow website, the latest data show more than 25.38 million individuals, or 77.7%, of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Yesterday, a total of 184,162 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Of that, 21,927 were first doses, 140,054 people completed their two-dose schedule, while 22,181 people got their booster shots.
A total of 49,253,453 doses of vaccines have been administered since the start of the programme on February 24.
The country has now fully vaccinated 94.7% of adults, with just some 5% remaining to be fully inoculated.
As of yesterday, 55.3% of adolescents aged 12-17 are fully vaccinated while 81.6% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The CovidNow website tracker projects that 80% of the population will be fully vaccinated by December 16.
The Klang Valley has the highest vaccination rate, with 87.2% of its general population and 114.8% of its adult population inoculated.
When an area records a vaccination rate of more than 100%, it means that the changes in the population size have yet to be accounted for by the Statistics Department since the last census was conducted. This also includes undocumented residents.
Malacca has the highest vaccination rate among children at 76.1%, followed by Perlis (75.6%) and Kedah (74.8%)
Sabah has the lowest vaccination rate with only 56.5% of its general population having been inoculated.
Kelantan is the other state with a less than 60% vaccination rate, with figures standing at 56.8%. – October 26, 2021.
