MALAYSIA recorded 4,782 fresh Covid-19 cases as of noon today, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The number today is the lowest since June 22, when 4,743 cases were logged.
This is the 23rd straight day the country has reported fewer than 10,000 daily cases. There were 10,915 cases recorded on October 2.
The new infections today bring the cumulative cases since the onset of the pandemic to more than 2.43 million.
The breakdown of cases by state will be updated on the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website after midnight.
Meanwhile, more than 23.76 million people or 72.8% of the total population have now been fully inoculated.
A total of 124,530 vaccine doses were administered yesterday under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Of that, 9,831 people received their first dose, 106,261 completed their two-dose schedule and 8,438 received their booster shot.
More than 49 million vaccine doses have been administered since the programme began on February 24. – October 25, 2021.
