SINGAPORE has eased travel restrictions for travellers from Malaysia, allowing them to quarantine at their place of residence rather than quarantine centres from October 27.

At the same time, Malaysia will also be classified as a Category III country, whereby travellers no longer need to take a PCR test upon arrival but at the end of the stay-home order.

Today Online, quoting the Singapore Ministry of Health, said that Category III travellers must remain at their declared residence for the duration of the 10-day quarantine and be required to wear an electronic monitoring device throughout.

“Action will be taken against those who breach their stay-home notice requirements or make false declarations,” the ministry said.

It added that these individuals can only use taxis to get to their residence, not public transport.

They also no longer have to be screened with rapid-test kits on the third and seventh days of their arrival in Singapore. – October 23, 2021.
