MALAYSIA logged 5,828 new Covid-19 infections as of noon today, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The country has been reporting fewer than 10,000 cases for 20 consecutive days.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases stands at 2,426,050 as of 12pm today.
The breakdown of cases according to states will be updated on the CovidNow website after midnight.
Over the past seven days, the country witnessed a decline in hospital admissions by 14%. The seven-day average admission was 1,458 cases with 68%. bed utilisation.
Its infection rate (Rt) also dropped from 1.00 to 0.87, which means the spread of the coronavirus is waning.
Kuala Lumpur is the only region that has an Rt greater than 1.00.
Meanwhile, the country has fully inoculated 72.2% of its population following the administration of 157,999 vaccine doses yesterday.
