TERENGGANU and Johor will move into Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan on Monday, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement today.

The Covid-19 Pandemic Management Special Committee has decided on this after evaluating current risks, he added.

“The standard operating procedure (SOP) will be the same as other states under Phase 4. The National Security Council will update the information on its official website.”

Ismail Sabri said new conditions will be added to the SOPs soon, with regard to fully vaccinated adolescents aged between 12 and 17.

Rule relaxations and privileges enjoyed by fully vaccinated adults will be expanded to teenagers, he added.

“However, this will not be implemented immediately.”

He said Putrajaya will first streamline the privileges and come up with a three-week grace period until mid-November before they are applicable to teenagers.

“This period is to ensure at least 80% of adolescents who have received their first dose at this juncture, are fully vaccinated.”

As of yesterday, 2.5 million (80.2%) teenagers have been vaccinated since the inoculation exercise for adolescents started, he said, adding that it is among the fastest vaccination rates for the group in the world. – October 22, 2021.
