A TOTAL of 23,451,810 people or 71.8% of the country’s population have now been fully vaccinated against the Covid-19, the Health Ministry said.
According to the ministry’s CovidNow website, 235,607 vaccine shots were administered yesterday under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Of the total vaccine doses administered yesterday, 30,198 of them were first jabs while 186,362 individuals completed their two-shot schedule. A total of 19,047 booster shot were administered.
The country has now administered 48.67 million Covid-19 vaccine doses since the programme began on February 24.
Meanwhile, the data shows that 80.2% of adolescents aged between 12 and 17 have received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine while 43.4% of them are fully inoculated.
As for the adult population, 94.3% have been fully vaccinated.
The CovidNow tracker projects 80% of the general population to be fully vaccinated by December 16, which is 55 days away.
The Klang Valley has the highest vaccination rate, with 86.4% of its general population and 114.7% of its adult population inoculated.
When an area records a vaccination rate of more than 100%, it means that the changes in the population size have yet to be accounted for by the Statistics Department since the last census was conducted. This also includes undocumented residents.
Kelantan has the lowest vaccination rate overall. Only 55.3% of its general population have been inoculated. – October 22, 2021.
