PAHANG Pakatan Harapan chief Fauzi Abdul Rahman said the coalition is confident of upsetting Barisan Nasional to win the state.
“
Fauzi, who is also Pahang PKR president, did not elaborate on the details, including how many seats each of the four component parties would be allocated.
Pahang is the home state of BN and Umno chairman Najib Razak.
In 2008, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) only won four out of the 42 state seats and two out of the 14 parliamentary seats in the state.
DAP and PAS each won two state seats while PKR won two of the federal seats.
In 2013, the now defunct pact of PR tripled its number of state seats to 12 (DAP 7; PAS 3; PKR 2) and doubled its number of parliamentary seats to four.
DAP and PAS each won a federal seat while PKR retained Kuantan and Indera Mahkota.
Fauzi said the coalition is hopeful it would make more inroads as the people in Pahang are burdened by the goods and services tax and various environmental issues, including floods and pollution from bauxite mining. – January 27, 2018.
