IN the past seven days, the Klang Valley has seen a 22% increase in hospital admissions due to Covid-19, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin tweeted today.
He said the ministry has added a snapshot view to its CovidNow platform to “quickly highlight trends” with increased hospital admissions in the Klang Valley and Sarawak among the main indicators for the ministry to monitor.
Based on CovidNow’s data, hospital admissions in Selangor rose 23% in the past week, with its bed utilisation at 67%.
Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya saw a 12% and 5% increase respectively.
This was followed by Sarawak, which reported a 16% increase in hospital admissions during this time.
However, there has been a 2% decrease in hospital admissions nationwide over the past week.
There has also been a 21% decrease in the number of average weekly cases across the country.
The number of fatalities over the past 14 days has also dropped by 26%. – October 21, 2021.
