TERENGGANU Football Club (TFC) has chosen Park Seung-il from South Korea to replace countryman Kim Hyun-woo who is injured and unable to play in the Malaysian League (M League).

“Seung-il will not be fielded in the first game as he is still not fully fit. He will play as attacker but his role is slightly different from Hyun-woo’s.

“He needs to polish up a bit. He has been training for three days at TFC camp, and god willing, he will be fielded in the second or third game,” coach Irfan Bakti said in Kuala Terengganu.

Kim, a striker with the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP) last season, has to rest for up to six months due to his injury.

In a related development, Irfan said they had tested the starting line-up in a friendly.

“We also tested our main line-up against Macerra Kuantan two days ago and I am delighted there is an improvement in the players’ technical understanding,” he said.

“Starting from pre-season matches in Cambodia, the four-cornered tournament for the Terengganu Menteri Besar Cup has shown the players’ compatibility.

“Our goal is to win one of the trophies. It’s not easy, but we must strive to achieve the result as desired by the association.” – Bernama, January 27, 2018.
