PRIME Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today said it is his elder brother Kamarazaman’s right to set up a new party, Parti Kuasa Rakyat, in the country’s democratic practice.
Ismail, who is also an Umno vice-president, said family members belonging to different political parties is not something new in the country.
“It has been happening in Malaysia… this is democracy and that’s his right… there’s no quarrel over it and so on,” said the Bera MP when asked on Kamarazaman’s action of setting up Parti Kuasa Rakyat recently.
Ismail was speaking at a press conference after the pinning of the badge for Bera district police chief Mansor Samsudin, who was promoted to the rank of deputy superintendent, at Dewan Sri Kempas of the district police headquarters.
Deputy Bera district police chief N. Kumaran was also promoted to deputy superintendent.
Also present were Deputy Home Minister Ismail Mohamed Said, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Bukit Aman Department of Logistics and Technology director Sahabudin Abd Manan and its director of management, Zaini Jass.
Kamarazaman launched Parti Kuasa Rakyat on October 10, which among others, will be championing free education, healthcare and housing, and the creation of jobs, especially for the B40 and M40 groups. – Bernama, October 17, 2021.
